Environment and Sustainability Policy

Vision

At Dalehead Veterinary Group we recognise the importance of the environment and our responsibility to protect it.  Everything we do within the business has an impact on the world around us and we are completely committed to reducing the negative effect we make while actively seeking ways in which we can bring about positive changes.

The Green Team Mission

We have appointed an environmental champion Andrew Linney. He is responsible for ensuring the policy is implemented and that all employees share responsibilities, aims and objectives of our Dalehead Veterinary Group Environmental Policy.

The Dalehead Veterinary Group “Green Team” will meet quarterly to assess how we are tackling our policy aims and discuss possible new ways to be more environmentally proactive.

Our Policy aims and objectives will be displayed in our waiting room, on our website and via social media. We will actively encourage the practice users to support our environmental goals.

Environmental Objective

• Reducing greenhouse gas emissions in all areas of the practice.
• Minimise the use of paper, packaging, printing ink and use recycled paper and recycle products where possible.
• Reduce mileage by grouping calls in areas.
• Responsible disposal of unused medications.
• Recycling medication packaging whether animal or human.
• Recycling animal food packaging.
• Minimise aesthetic gas usage.
• Encourage preventative healthcare.
• Conduct an annual waste survey.
• Promote responsible use of antiparasitics and antimicrobials.
• Source environmentally responsible cleaning and pet care products.
• Reducing electricity usage through upgrading lighting and switching off all lights no in use.
