Small Animal Vet

Expanding, independent, Tier 2 first opinion practice, seeking colleague to join friendly team of ten vets and 6 nurses in mixed farm/small animal practice. Dedicated small animal role, plenty of scope to work up own cases with clinical freedom, 15-minute consultation slots.

CPD fully supported and funded, certificates encouraged.

Looking to expand and progress our Small Animal Department, for the right candidate, the progressive opportunities of this role within the freedom of independent practice should not be under estimated.


Dedicated small animal role within a mixed farm/small animal practice. Plenty of scope to work up own cases with clinical freedom and develop skills both on site and through fully supported and funded CPD - certificates encouraged. This role could suit a new graduate or a more experienced colleague.

The role is full time (but could be tailored for the right candidate), and provides a good work/ life balance as the latest our evening surgery would finish is 6.30pm. This allows plenty of time to enjoy your evenings and get out in the beautiful Dales – summers evenings of long dog walks or sitting in a beer garden enjoying a G & T!

We have the structure to support a new graduate, within a scheme bespoke to the individuals needs to provide the best possible support and working environment for a new vet.

Already in practice and looking for that new role? The department is at a time of expansion and progression, so you could really make a difference! Being independent we can evolve to our clinician’s strengths, provide clinical freedom within the structure of in-house protocols written by OUR clinician to offer gold standard service to our patients. Clinical continuity is vital, with our vets encouraged to build their own client base and work up their own cases.

SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:  Caring, professional with great people skills. We are looking for a colleague who can fit in and work well with our team, but with that spark and innovation to maximise and ‘own’ their role. If the right fit, we would hope for someone looking to settle into a role, put down some roots, and play an integral l part in the development and future of the practice.

LOCATION: Settle, North Yorkshire.

LOCATION DESCRIPTION: Market town in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales great for walking, climbing, cycling yet within 5 minutes of great pubs, shops restaurants and supermarkets! Great schools and lots of local events and community groups to get involved in. On the doorstep of the Lake District and easy links to motorways. Good transport links to Leeds, Manchester etc.

SALARY DESCRIPTION: Salary discussed on interview, commensurate with experience.
